January 2010[]
- January 10: Apple 浦东, the flagship retail store in Shanghai, China, is opened.
- January 27: Apple CEO Steve Jobs announces the iPad at a special event. Other announcements include iBooks, the iPad Camera Connection Kit, iPad Keyboard Dock, and Keynote for iOS. Sun Microsystems is acquired by Oracle Corporation.
February 2010[]
- February 1: Original Macintosh development team member Brian Howard passes away due to cancer.
- February 11: Apple TV Software 3.0.2 is the final software update to be released for the 1st-generation Apple TV.
March 2010[]
- March 18: Apple board member Jerry York dies after suffering a brain aneurysm.
- March 27: The iPad Camera Connection Kit becomes available for pre-order and the iPod Camera Connector is discontinued.
- March 29: Mac OS X 10.6.3 is released.
April 2010[]
- April 3: The first iPad (Wi-Fi only) is released, along with iWork (Keynote, Numbers, and Pages) for iOS.
- April 8: Apple holds a special event to preview iPhone OS 4 (later renamed iOS 4).
- April 21: Fruit Ninja is released for iPhone.
- April 22: gfxCardStatus 1.0 is released for MacBook Pro models with multiple GPUs.
- April 26: gfxCardStatus 1.3.1 is released.
- April 27: Apple acquires Siri, Inc., the developer of Siri Assistant for iPhone.
- April 30: The first iPad with 3G cellular capability is released.
May 2010[]
- May 8: gfxCardStatus 1.6.1 is released.

June 2010[]
- June 5: The Apple Developer app is released in advance of the 2010 Worldwide Developers Conference.
- June 7-11: The 2010 Worldwide Developers Conference is held at the West Hall of the Moscone Center. The iPhone 4 is announced, replacing the iPhone 3GS.
- June 14: Various Space Invaders apps are initially released for iPhone OS 3.
- June 15: Mac OS X 10.6.4 (Snow Leopard) is released.
- June 19: Apple Uptown in Minneapolis, Minnesota is the 291st Apple retail store to be opened.
- June 21: iOS 4 is released.
- June 24: The iPhone 4 is released while the 16 and 32 GB versions of the iPhone 3GS are discontinued.
July 2010[]
- July 13: Fruit Ninja HD is released for the 1st-generation iPad.
- July 16: Apple CEO Steve Jobs announces that a free bumper case would be provided to all iPhone 4 users to improve signal bars.
- July 24: Apple Fayette Mall in Lexington, Kentucky is the 298th Apple retail store to be opened.
- July 26: The 24 and 30-inch LED Cinema Displays are discontinued.
- July 27: The 1st-generation Mac Pro is updated to a 2010 model with options for up to 12 cores. The 27-inch LED Cinema Display is also released.
August 2010[]
- August 1: gfxCardStatus 1.8 is released.
- August 2: gfxCardStatus 1.8.1 is released.
- August 4: Osmos is released for iPhone through the Apple App Store.
- August 9: The 1st-generation Mac Pro is updated to "Gulftown" Intel Xeon processors (MacPro5,1) with choice of ATI Radeon HD 5770 and 5870 graphics cards.
- August 11: iPhone OS 3.2.2 is released as the final update to iPhone OS 3. Former Apple Computer hardware engineer Bob Bailey passes away.
- August 16: The Snow Leopard Graphics Update is released for users of Mac OS X 10.6.4.
- August 27: Apple files a patent for the component design and manufacture of the 4th-generation iPod shuffle.
September 2010[]
- September 1: Apple CEO Steve Jobs hosts a special event in which the 6th-generation iPod nano, 4th-generation iPod shuffle and 2nd-generation Apple TV are released. The 4th-generation iPod touch is also announced while the 2nd and 3rd-generation iPod touches are discontinued. AirTunes is renamed to AirPlay.
- September 4: The first Apple retail store in Spain is opened.
- September 8: iOS 4.1 is released.
- September 12: The 4th-generation iPod touch is released.
- September 23: Gardening Mama is released for iOS through the Apple App Store.
October 2010[]
- October 2: Intaglio SketchPad 1.4 is released for iOS with new boolean path operations and the ability to convert text blocks to paths.
- October 20: Apple announces the Mac App Store, previews Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), and releases 2nd-generation MacBook Air models and iLife '11 during a special event titled "Back to the Mac."
- October 21: Microsoft launches the Windows Phone platform in response to Apple's iOS.
- October 26: Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 is released.
- October 29: Intaglio SketchPad 1.5 is released for iOS with the added ability to create custom drawing sizes, grid setups, and save default properties for new drawings.
November 2010[]
- November 3: Apple begins accepting app submissions from registered Apple Developers for the upcoming Mac App Store.
- November 10: Mac OS X 10.6.5 (Snow Leopard) is released.
- November 17: Ronald D. Sugar is appointed to the Apple Board of Directors.

- December 1: Intaglio SketchPad 1.6 is released with added support for iOS 4.2 and printing.
- December 4: A free "Lite" version of Intaglio SketchPad is released for iOS.
- December 10: Super Stickman Golf is released for iOS through the Apple App Store.
- December 17: gfxCardStatus 2.0 is released.
- December 23: Apple Remote Desktop 3.4 is the first version of the software to be released through the Mac App Store.
