- February 1: Mac OS X 10.7.3 (Lion) is released.
- February 16: OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" is announced.
March 2012[]
- March 3: The first Apple retail store in the Netherlands is opened.
- March 7: New Apple CEO Tim Cook hosts “It’s Showtime”, the first Apple event after Steve Jobs’s death. The new 3rd-generation iPad is announced, and the 3rd-generation Apple TV is released with Apple TV Software 5.0. An update to iOS 5.1 is released. Pages for iOS is also updated to version 1.6.
- March 10: Support ends for Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac.
- March 16: Apple releases "The new iPad" (3rd generation) with Retina display and the Apple A5X chip.

- April 5: Critical Hit Software releases Jigsaw Puzzle for iOS.
- April 9: Construction Simulator 2012 is released for Mac OS X.
- April 25: Tickets to the 2012 Worldwide Developers Conference go on sale at 8:30 A.M. and sell out in about 2 hours.

- June 1: Intaglio SketchPad 2.0 is released for iOS.
- June 11–15: The 2012 Worldwide Developers Conference is held. During the keynote event on the first day, Apple releases a new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and announces iOS 6.
- June 13: Intaglio SketchPad 2.0.1 is released for iOS.
- June 19: Apple releases the 2nd-generation AirPort Express.
- June 25: gfxCardStatus 2.2.1 is released.
- June 26: A dedicated Apple Podcasts app is released for iOS.
- June 28: Apple announces the retirement of senior VP of technologies Bob Mansfield, who would be succeeded by new senior VP of hardware engineering Dan Riccio.
- June 30: MobileMe is discontinued and replaced by iCloud.

- December 11: A port of Roblox for iOS is released through the Apple App Store.
