The 3rd-generation AirPods are wireless bluetooth earbuds of the AirPods line that were announced by Apple in a special event that was held on October 18, 2021. They became available on October 26, succeeding the 2nd-generation AirPods.[1]

Features[]

The 3rd-generation AirPods feature the Apple H1 headphone chip for quick and easy pairing, like the 2nd-generation AirPods and AirPods Pro. The main highlight of this generation of AirPods is the new design, which is similar to the AirPods Pro, except it does not have silicone ear tips. Other new features include support for Spatial audio and IPX4 water resistance. The earbuds also include a Force sensor that allows for better control of playing, pausing, skipping, and activating Siri on the earbuds.[1]
