Anand Shukla is a distinguished engineer at Apple Inc.


Shukla received a bachelor of technology in 2001 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. In 2003 he received a M.S. in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.[1]



Shukla joined Google in July 2003 and became a senior staff software engineer, designing algorithms for new search products.[1]


Shukla left Google with other fellow engineers in August 2015 to co-found Laserlike, which focused on the development of artificial intelligence (AI) to follow news topics.[1][2] The startup raised US$24 million and released a smartphone app for Android and iOS.[3][4]


Shukla joined Apple in November 2018 as a software engineer.[1] Apple also acquired Laserlike by March 2019 and withdrew its mobile app from the market.[2][3] By October 2020, Shukla had become a distinguished engineer.[1]
