The AppleDesign Powered Speakers were released by Apple Computer in 1993 for their Macintosh computer line. They were manufactured in a matching Snow White industrial design.[1]

The speakers themselves are full-range, tuned-port, and bass-reflex. Their frequency response is 150 Hz to 20 kHz and its sound response level is 90 dB at 0.5 m at 90 Hz. The DC power supply provides 15V at up to 40 W.

AppleDesign Powered Speakers II[]

The speakers were updated in 1994 with a smaller, more rounded design as the AppleDesign Powered Speakers II. A special version was produced in black to match the PowerCD.[1][2]

Usage with modern devices[]

Devices without a headphone jack, such as recent model iPads and iPhones, can be attached to the speakers through a Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter.[3]
