The Apple A17 Pro is a 64-bit ARM-based system on a chip (SoC), designed by Apple and fabricated by TSMC for the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. It was announced in a special event on September 12, 2023.[1]

The A17 Pro is manufactured by TSMC to Apple's design specifications. The die is fabricated through a 3 nm process (N3B). The 6-core CPU contains 4 high-performance cores that are up to 10% faster than the ones in the Apple A16. The 6 GPU cores are 20% faster than the A16 with 4x faster hardware ray tracing. The 16-core Neural Engine is capable of 35 trillion operations per second. A new USB constroller enables USB 3 speeds for the first time.[1][2]
