Apple Music 1 (formerly Beats 1) is Apple's flagship internet music radio station through Apple Music.
History[]
Beats 1 originally began airing on June 30, 2015 as the flagship curated music channel on the Beats Music streaming service from Beats Electronics, which had been acquired by Apple in 2014. Beats Music became Apple Music. Beats 1 replaced Apple's existing iTunes Radio station and was later rebranded as Apple Music 1, which was announced along with Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country on August 18, 2020. The stations are streamed live around the world 24 hours a day.[1] The radio stations are ad-supported and free to all users with an Apple ID.[2]
