On May 19, 1980, Apple Computer introduced the Apple III at the National Computer Conference, held at the Anaheim Convention Center. Apple rented the entirety of DisneyLand nearby for 5 hours of the following day for $42,000. Around 7,000 conference attendees were shuttled on British double-decker buses to attend the premiere, which included hired bands.[1][2][3]
