January 1984[]
On January 22, 1984, the "1984" commercial cryptically announcing the Macintosh is televised during the 3rd quarter break of Super Bowl XVIII.
On January 24, 1984, Apple Computer chairman Steve Jobs (with bowtie) unveils the Macintosh at the company's annual shareholders meeting.[1]
On January 30, 1984, Steve Jobs (with necktie) presents the Mac during a keynote event at the Boston Computer Society.[2][3]
April 1984[]

On April 23, 1984, the Apple IIc is announced during the Apple II Forever event at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. Steve Jobs also presented a report of the Mac's first 100 days.[4] Michael Jackson had been slated to perform at the event. However, Herbie Hancock performed in his place due to injuries Jackson had sustained during an accident while filming a Pepsi commercial in Los Angeles, California.[4][5]
