The 1987 AppleWorld Conference was held March 2 to 4, 1987 at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, California. During the keynote event on the opening day, the Macintosh SE and Macintosh II were introduced by Apple VP Jean-Louis Gassée, who had replaced Steve Jobs as the head of the Macintosh group.[1][2]

The 1987 Apple Developers Conference (DevCon) was held in the first week of April at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. IBM just happened to be launching their Personal System/2 next door on April 2nd.[3]
