Macworld 2001 Apple introduces iTunes
The 2001 Macworld Conference & Expo was held January 9 to 12, 2001 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. During the keynote event on the opening day, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced faster Power Mac G4 models with new SuperDrive option, the Titanium PowerBook G4, and iTunes as the center of Apple's "Digital Hub" strategy.[1]
February 2001[]
Steve Jobs, 2001-2 Macworld Tokyo Presentation
On February 21, 2001, a keynote event was held at Macworld Expo Tokyo, Steve Jobs presented improved Japanese font support included in Mac OS X along with other user interface updates to the Finder. New hardware announcements included the "Flower Power" and "Blue Dalmation" iMac G3 models.[2]

Apple Special Event 2001 Steve Jobs introduces the iBook G3
On May 1, 2001, Apple held a press conference in Cupertino where Steve Jobs reviewed the release of Mac OS X 10.0 and automatic software updates with support for burning music. The main new announcement was the redesigned iBook,[3] which was later dubbed the "IceBook".[4]

The 2001 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2001) was held May 21 to 25, 2001 at the San Jose Convention Center. During the keynote event on the opening day, new releases included Mac OS X Server 10.0 "Cheetah" and WebObjects 5.
July 2001[]
Apple Macworld 2001 New York
On July 18, 2001, a keynote event was held at Macworld Expo New York, where Steve Jobs announced the grand opening of Apple retail stores with a goal to open 25 locations by the end of the year. New software announcements included upcoming improvements in Mac OS X 10.1 and demonstrations of new native applications. New hardware announcements included the "QuickSilver" Power Mac G4 line. Apple senior VP Jon Rubinstein explained the "Megahertz myth" in detail to demonstrate why PowerPC G4 processors consistently outperformed Intel Pentium processors at the time.[5]
September 2001[]
Steve Jobs introduces OS X 10 1 - Seybold 2001
On September 25, 2001, a keynote event was held at the Seybold Seminar in San Francisco, where Steve Jobs announced the availability of Mac OS X 10.1 and Microsoft Office for Mac OS X. iDVD 2 for Mac OS X was also demonstrated along with other 3rd party native applications.[6]
October 2001[]
Apple - Steve Jobs introduces the iPod - 2001
On October 23, 2001, Apple CEO Steve Jobs hosted a special event in which he reviewed the Mac's digital hub strategy. Jobs then introduced the first iPod and its features from music playback to the ability to transfer files over FireWire. This was followed by testimonials by music celebrities.[7]
