Steve Jobs introduces the original MacBook Pro Macworld SF (2006)

The 2006 Macworld Conference & Expo was held January 10 to 13, 2006 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. During the keynote event on the opening day, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the Intel-based iMac and MacBook Pro as Apple's first systems to use Intel's Core Duo processors. New universal binary versions of iLife and iWork were demonstrated along with Rosetta, which allowed PowerPC software to be run in emulation.[1]

On February 28, 2006, Apple held a press conference at the Town Hall conference center in Cupertino where Steve Jobs presented presented the iPod Hi-Fi speaker system.[2]

Apple WWDC 2006

The 2006 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2006) was held August 7 to 11, 2006 at Moscone West in San Francisco. During the keynote event on the opening day, Steve Jobs introduced the Intel Xeon-based Mac Pro as the replacement to the PowerPC G5-based Power Mac G5. An updated Xserve based on dual core Xeons was also presented. Software announcements included Boot Camp for running Windows on Intel-based Mac systems, and a progress report on the development of Mac OS X Leopard.[3]

On September 12, 2006, Apple held a special music event titled "It's Showtime" at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, where Steve Jobs announced the iTV (later Apple TV) and introduced the 2nd-generation iPod nano.[4]
