Apple TV iOS

The Apple TV app, stylized as  tv, is developed and released by Apple to allow access to videos and Apple TV+ programming. It supports Apple devices such as Apple TV consoles, iPhones, and iPads, as well as various 3rd party devices.

History[]

The Apple TV app was first introduced in October 2016 with the release of iOS 10.2 and replaced the Videos app for viewing videos previously synced through iTunes or purchased from the iTunes Store.[1] Support for Apple TV+ streaming services began on November 1, 2019.[2]

On October 12, 2022, Microsoft announced that the Apple TV app would be ported to Windows 11 for release in 2023. Early beta versions were scheduled to be released soon through the Microsoft Store. Previously, Apple streaming services were only available to Windows systems through iTunes or a web browser.[3] A public preview version of the Apple TV app was released through the Microsoft Store on January 11, 2023.[4]
