The Apple USB Ethernet Adapter is an adapter dongle from Apple that allows Macs with a USB-A port to accept a 100BASE-T Ethernet connection.

History[]

It was introduced in 2008 for the MacBook Air, which lacked a built-in Ethernet port. This dongle also became available for newer MacBook and MacBook Pro models as they eliminated their Ethernet ports to accommodate thinner designs. Mobile devices can be use it in conjunction with the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter or the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter.
