The 1st-generation Apple Watch SE is a budget smartwatch of the Apple Watch lineup that was announced in a special event on September 15, 2020 and released on September 18 by Apple Inc.[1]
Features[]
Using the Apple S5 processor and W3 wireless chip from the Apple Watch Series 5, it runs twice as fast as the Series 3, which had previously remained on the market as the low end of the product line. It uses the same 1000-nit Retina display as the Apple Watch Series 4. Finishes are available in silver, space gray, and gold.[2]
Updates[]
In Fall 2021, new shipments of the Apple Watch SE began including a Apple Watch Magnetic Fast Charger to USB-C Cable, replacing the previous USB-A version. However, fast charging is only supported by the updated charging architecture introduced in the Apple Watch Series 7.[3]
