The 1986 Apple World Conference (or Apple World '86) was a computer conference that was hosted by Apple Computer for developers and educators from January 15 to 17, 1986. It was held at Brooks Hall in San Francisco, California.[1][2]
History
The event was organized by Mitch Hall Associates, which had held the first Macworld Expo the previous year. Apple CEO John Sculley wanted to redirect attention back to the Apple II series after the departure of co-founder Steve Jobs.[3][4] Major announcements on January 16 included the Macintosh Plus and LaserWriter Plus.[5]
Attendance
About 30,000 visitors were estimated to attend the event. Over 125 exhibitors filled the sold-out Macintosh section while about 50 exhibitors filled the Apple II section.[3]
