The Apple iPod shuffle Dock was developed by Apple Computer for the 2nd-generation iPod shuffle.

Description[]

IPod shuffle Dock with iPod shuffle 2G

A 2nd-generation iPod shuffle being docked.

The iPod shuffle Dock uses a modified 3.5 mm headphone jack to sync and charge over a USB 2.0 connection. Some users have complained of the fragility of this connector and its tendency to break off.[1][2]

Alternatives[]

The Apple iPod shuffle USB Cables for the 3rd and 4th-generation iPod shuffles are not compatible with the 2nd-generation iPod shuffle. If obtaining a 3rd-party replacement, it should explicitly state that it supports the 2nd-generation model.[3] Another alternative was the IncipioBud, which added a USB-A jack to the iPod.[4][5]
