The Battery Monitor is a utility found only in Mac OS X 10.0.x "Cheetah", at the time when the corresponding Menu Extra was not yet on hand.

For the exclusive use of the iBooks or PowerBooks, the utility enables uers to keep track of how much battery life remains.
