Brian Richards Land is a senior manager of sensing hardware at Apple Inc.[1]

Land previously worked at Gyration Inc. A patent filed on January 24, 1996 was granted on December 16, 1997 for methods of assembly and operation of a vibratory rate gyroscope.[2]

Land became a DEST (distinguished engineer, scientist or technologist) at Apple,[1] with patents for touchscreen technology dating back to 2006.[3] One filing from January 3, 2007 covers the storing of sensor values so that baseline calibration is not corrupted by the detection of fingers or other objects during bootup.[4] His more recent work includes proximity sensors with adjustment for detected ambient light and temperature conditions.[5]
