Bruce "Tog" Tognazzini (born 1945) was an applications software engineer and human interface designer at Apple Computer.

Tognazzini operated a computer store in San Francisco, California selling early Apple computers before joining Apple Computer in 1978 as employee #66 and working on a publications style guide. According to Tognazzini, he began drafting the Human Interface Guidelines for Apple in September 1978 and it reached the Macintosh group in 1982.[1] Tognazzini married fellow employee Bana Witt in 1980.[2] In 1986, he was remarried to Dr. Julie F. Moran.
After Apple[]
Tognazzini left Apple in 1992 for Sun Microsystems, where he worked for four years. In February 1996, he became the lead designer at WebMD. He has since also been a user interface consultant, speaker, and author. He is presently a principal at the Nielsen Norman Group.[3]
