The City of Chicago is a major city in Illinois, bordering Lake Michigan and Indiana. The surrounding metropolitan area is known as "Chicagoland".

With an estimated population of 2,746,388 as of 2020, Chicago is the most populous city in the state of Illinois and the 3rd most populous city in the United States.[1] As of 2023, there are 2 Apple retail stores within the Chicago city limits.[2]

On May 29, 1992 during the keynote address of the Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago, Apple Computer CEO John Sculley unveiled the first device to be based on the Newton platform, tentatively called the Newton NotePad.[3][4][5]
