coconutBattery is a 3rd-party utility for Mac OS X (now macOS) developed by coconut-flavour[sic] to monitor the battery health of Apple devices with an internal battery, including iPhones.[1]

Usage[]

The utility reports information about age of the mobile device and its battery, battery health, cycle counts, temperature, and any other saved history.[2]

History[]

coconutBattery was created in 2005 by Christoph Sinai, then a 22-year-old student in Germany.[3] After some legal issues, it had reached version 2.0 on December 9, 2005.[4] In March 2015, version 3.2 added support for connected iPads, iPhones, and iPod touches (older non-iOS iPods are not supported).[5] A premium version with additional features, coconutBattery Plus, is available for US$9.95. The basic version is free, though donations are also welcome.
