The Color StyleWriter 2500 was a color inkjet printer from the StyleWriter series that was released by Apple Computer on March 14, 1996, replacing the Color StyleWriter 2400.[1]
Description[]
The Color StyleWriter 2500 featured a maximum resolution of 720x360-dpi and could print at a speed of 5 pages-per-minute in black only, or about 1.5 minutes-per-page in color with ColorSync 2.0 support.[1][2] Color PhotoGrade is supported through a print kit which includes an integrated ink cartridge with print head, along with special paper and updater software.[3] It is compatible with Canon BC-20/BC-21BK/BC-21C/BC-21E/BC-22 (black/black/color/4-color/photo) bubblejet cartridges.[4]
An optional Color StyleWriter LocalTalk Module added support for LocalTalk networking without the need for a host computer.[5] An optional StyleWriter EtherTalk Adapter added connectivity to 10BASE-T and 10BASE2 Ethernet for faster networking.[1]
Included fonts[]
64 TrueType fonts are included on disk.[1] Support for PostScript Type 1 fonts can be added by using Adobe Type Manager.[6]
Discontinuation[]
The Color StyleWriter 2500 was soon superseded by the HP-based Color StyleWriter 4500, which was announced on June 16, 1997.[2][7]
