The first 35-watt versions became available for pre-order on June 17 and became available in stores on June 22, 2022.[2] A compact version was included with premium configurations of the MacBook Air with Apple M2 chip.[3][4] A full-size version also became available separately for users who need to attach optional "duckhead" adapters, such as ones from the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit or the Power Adapter Extension Cable.[5]

Apple recommends the 35-watt dual chargers for the following devices:

Power output[]

The adapters support the USB Power Delivery 3.0 spedification. The fixed power delivery options for a single device include 5 or 9 volts at 3 amps, 15 volts at 2.33 amps, or 20 volts at 1.75 amps at up to a maxinum of 35 watts. If two devices, such as a MacBook Air, iPhone, and/or iPad are attached, each will receive 17.5 watts. If an Apple Watch or AirPods charger is connected, it will receive up to 7.5 watts, while the remaining 27.5 watts is available for another device.[6]
