EtherMac was a line of adapter dongles developed by Farallon primarily for Apple Computer's proprietary AAUI Ethernet ports.

Description[]

Unlike the EtherWave transceivers from Farallon, the EtherMac adapters only feature one 10BASE-2 or 10BASE-T port. The 10BASE-T version requires a hub to be set up in a star topology. Though they cannot be daisy chained, this eliminates the risk of the dongle itself being a single point of failure for the network.

Apple licensed the EtherMac iPrint Adapter SL and LT, which were rebranded as the StyleWriter EtherTalk Adapter and Adapter II for use with their StyleWriter inkjet printer line.[1][2][3] Farallon's version also supported LocalTalk-capable LaserWriter models.[4]
