Gregory Raymond "Joz" Joswiak (born October 1963) is the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Apple Inc.
Education[]
Joswiak received a B.S.E. in computer engineering from the University of Michigan in 1986. Joswiak's classmates pointed out that his last name was a combination of Steve Jobs' and Steve Wozniak's last names, leading to his nickname "Joz".[3]
Career[]
Apple Computer[]
Joswiak first joined Apple Computer in June 1986 after having been recruited directly from college. By 1997, he was the head of marketing for the PowerBook line. In 2001, mobile hardware, such as the iPod, were added to his responsibilities. By 2007, he was also the head of marketing for the iPhone.[3]
Apple Inc.[]
Joswiak became vice president of worldwide marketing of Apple in 2016.[3] In May 2018, while testifying in court against Samsung regarding their infringement of Apple's patents for the iPhone, Joswiak stated: "we were really risking everything that was making Apple successful at the time... We really were betting the company."[4] On August 4, 2020, Joswiak was promoted to senior VP when Phil Schiller stepped down from the role to become an Apple Fellow.[5][6]
