Griffin Technology is an innovative niche accessory designer and manufacturer headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Due to their partnership with Apple, they also have market presence in Europe.
History[]
Griffin was founded in 1992 to develop small peripherals and adapters. It gained attention in 1998 and 1999 for producing the iMate, iPort, and gPort to address the transition away from legacy ADB and RS-422 serial ports in the iMac G3 and blue & white Power Macintosh G3. Griffin later produced many iPod accessories covering the gamut from microphones and FM transmitters to cases. They were regarded as one of Apple's best partner companies, with their products being featured in Apple Stores. They now produce accessories and cables for iPhones.[1][2][3][4]
