The Help folder is a special folder, loose in the System Folder, in the Classic Mac OS. Orignally slated for a 1991 introduction, it finally made its way into the Mac OS as of Mac OS 8.5.
The Help folder is a centralised storage location for the different Help files from different applications. Apple makes use of this folder: it dumps its help files inside this very folder. A limited number of third-party software companies also take advantage of this folder.
The Apple Help Viewer is also stored inside this folder.
