iOS 13 is the thirteenth major release of iOS, being the successor to iOS 12 and the predecessor to iOS 14. It was announced at WWDC 2019 on June 3, 2019 alongside tvOS 13, watchOS 6, iPadOS and macOS Catalina, before being released to the general public on September 19, 2019.
History[]
The corresponding operating system for supported iPads was spun off into iPadOS from version 13.1. Support for HomePods was moved to tvOS with version 13.4.[1] In May 2020, Apple released iOS 13.5, which includes faster bypassing of Face ID to the passcode unlock screen if the user is wearing a mask due to COVID-19 safety requirements.[2]
Major changes[]
- The brand-new Dark Mode gives us a comfortable UI environment at night or in low-light situations.
- The new Photos has a new gallery that shows photos organized by years, months, days and all of your photos.
- New video editing.
- The new QuickType Keyboard allows you to swipe above letters to type words.
