iPadOS 18

iPadOS 18 is the current major release of the iPadOS tablet operating system, developed by Apple to succeed iPadOS 17. It was announced on June 10 at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference and was released on September 16, 2024.[1][2]

New features[]

iPadOS 18 introduces the same features seen in iOS 18, such as the customizable Home screen, revamped Control Center, the new Photos app, and many other updates.

It introduces the new Passwords app along with the long awaited Calculator app that had been excluded from iPads for many years.

Supported devices[]

iPadOS 18 requires an A12 Bionic chip or later (with the notable exception of the 7th-generation iPad, which is still supported despite only having an Apple A10 Fusion). Support for Apple Intelligence will require an Apple M1 chip or later.[3]
