The iPad (6th generation), marketed as just "iPad" and also referred to as iPad 2018, is a 9.7-inch (25 cm) tablet computer designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc. It was announced on March 27, 2018, during an education-focused event at Lane Tech High School in Chicago and is the successor to the 2017 model,[1] upgraded with the Apple A10 Fusion SoC and support for styluses such as the Apple Pencil.[2] The iPad is also marketed towards educators and schools.[3] The model shipped with iOS 11.6 and supports iPadOS through version 14.
After its introduction, this iPad model was used by Apple Retail employees at the Genius Bar and by other employees to assist with customer queries until September 2019, when the 7th generation iPad replaced this model.
