Original product line
First introduced in 2010 as a premium line of tablets, the iPad is now focused on the consumer and education markets.[1][2]
- iPad (1st generation), marketed simply as "iPad", with a 9.7-inch display.
- (The iPad 2 was the only model of the series that was formally marketed with a distinct number.)
- iPad (3rd generation), marketed as "New iPad" and informally referred to as the "iPad 3".
- iPad (4th generation), marketed as "iPad with Retina display" and informally called the "iPad 4".
- iPad (5th generation), also informally called the "iPad (2017)". It adopted the form factor of the first iPad Air and was repriced as an entry-level model.[3]
- iPad (6th generation), also informally called "iPad (2018)".
- iPad (7th generation), also informally called "iPad (2019)", with a larger 10.2-inch display.
- iPad (8th generation), also informally called "iPad (2020)".

- iPad mini - A line of smaller models released from November 2, 2012 to present.[4]
- iPad Air - A line of premium lightweight models released from November 1, 2013 to present.[5]
