The iPad Air is the 5th generation of the Apple iPad tablet devices. The iPad Air looks like previous devices but is lighter, thinner, and more powerful. The 64-bit A7 chip powers the lightweight device. Apple says that this tablet is up to twice as fast as 4th generation iPads. Notable improvements include a second microphone that is sure to improve audio recordings. Apple has also added a second antenna to the iPad structure for better iWi-Fi connections.

The iPad Air runs iOS 7 right out of the box. iOS 7 is a new iOS version that differs a lot from iOS 6. The new iOS 7 brings a minimalist design, immersive UI (user interface), and of course, faster performance. Because iOS 7 is designed for the newest devices, like the iPad Air.

Many apps (especially games) are carefully tailored for the iPad Air. So they will take advantage of the fast A7 processor to make games have special effects just for the iPad Air.

iPad Air Smart Covers and Cases

iPad Air Smart Covers and leather Smart Cases are available in 6 colors and are sold separately. The cover and case helps ipad go to ‘sleep’ when you close them and ‘wake up’ when you open them. Apple is adding more accessories to it’s products list to monetize on the growing accessories market.

Availability

iPad Air is available starting November 2013 from AT&T, Rogers and Verizon in the USA. In Canada, the prices and plans are more expensive at carriers Bell, Telus, Sprint and others.
