The 3rd-generation iPad Air, also referred to as iPad Air (2019), was released on March 18, 2019, bringing back Apple's iPad Air lineup after the iPad Air 2 had been discontinued in March 2017.
Specifications[]
The 3rd generation iPad Air featured a faster Apple A12 Bionic processor with built-in Neural Engine and embedded Apple M12 coprocessor. Storage was available in 64 and 256 GB configurations. Its 10.5-inch Retina display supported True Tone for color accuracy. The aluminum case was available in Space Gray, silver, or gold. It supported the original Apple Pencil and included a Smart Connector to attach a Smart Keyboard.[1]
Reception[]
The 3rd-generation iPad Air received positive reviews. It was praised for its laminated screen, Smart Keyboard case capability, as well as a speedy SoC. However, it only supports the 1st-generation Apple Pencil, uses the 2017's 10.5-inch iPad Pro design and only has two speakers compared to four on the Pro models.[2] In addition, while the current Pro models provide some support for HDR, the Air 3 does not.
