The 4th-generation iPad Air was announced by Apple at a special event on September 15, 2020 and shipped on the following October 23rd with a list price starting at US$ 599.[1][2]

The 4th-generation iPad Air resembles a 2018 iPad Pro with a 10.9" Liquid Retina display. An A14 Bionic processor made it the fastest iPad model at the time of its introduction. It has a small Touch ID sensor on the side, but it does not support Face ID nor Portrait Mode.[3][4] It is the first iPad Air model to use the USB-C port, while previous models used the traditional Lightning connector.[5]

The 4th-generation Air supports the Apple Pencil 2 and is compatible with the Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio for the 11" iPad Pro. Available finishes include Silver, Space Gray, Rose Gold, Green, and Sky Blue.[1]
