The 1st-generation iPad Pro was the first of a new line of flagship iPad models that was announced by Apple in a special event on September 9, 2015.[1]
Features[]
The 12.9-inch model was released on November 11, 2015. With twice the performance of an iPad Air 2, it was marketed as a notebook replacement for the professional market. It featured the powerful Apple A9X processor and was the first iPad to support the Apple Pencil as well as the ability to simultaneously run apps side-by-side. The rear camera could capture 8 megapixels with the ability to record 1080p HD video, and the front featured a 1.2 megapixel FaceTime HD camera.[2]
A 9.7-inch model announced on March 21, 2016 and was released on the following March 31st.[3] It featured similar specifications, with the exception of containing only 2 GB of RAM (instead of 4 GB), a 12 megapixel rear camera with the ability to record 4K video, and a 5 megapixel front camera.[4]
