The 1st-generation iPad Pro was the first of a new line of flagship iPad models that was announced by Apple in a special event on September 9, 2015.[1]

Description

The 12.9-inch model was released on November 11, 2015, followed by a 9.7-inch model which was released on March 21, 2016. With twice the performance of an iPad Air 2, it was marketed as a notebook replacement for the professional market. It featured the powerful Apple A9X processor and was the first iPad to support the Apple Pencil as well as the ability to simultaneously run apps side-by-side.[2][3]
