The iPhone 13 is a line of iPhones developed by Apple Inc. It was announced by Apple in a special event on September 14, 2021.[1] It became available for pre-order on September 17 and shipped on September 24, 2021 in five colors: (PRODUCT)RED, starlight, midnight, blue, and pink.[2] An additional green version was released on March 8, 2022.[3] The entire iPhone 13 lineup includes the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini is powered by a six-core Apple A15 Bionic processor with 4GB of RAM. It's original iOS version is iOS 15. This iPhone features Ceramic Shield on the display and back glass that is splash, water, and dust resistant.[4] It supports 5G networks for improved speed (up to 4Gbps) with the ability to automatically switch to LTE as needed to conserve battery life. It's Lightning connector supports faster charging though USB-C. [5] The battery life has been improved from the predecessor models as this iPhone has 3240 mAh Li-Ion battery. iPhone 13 has increased storage capacity from the base model to 128GB of storage. It has more storage options, such as 256GB and 512GB. The Super Retina XDR display features a 6.1-inch OLED screen with a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a resolution of 2532 x 1170 at 460 ppi. It's dual camera system are in a redesigned diagonal format. Both cameras are 12MP with the main camera, and a ultra-wide camera. It can record a 2160p (4k) video in 60 fps.

iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini shares a similar appearance to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini. It features an aluminium chassis with Ceramic Shield on display and back glass. This iPhone has a newly redesigned front notch that is more compact compared to the iPhone 12. The camera layout on the iPhone 13 is redesigned with a diagonal format to make it stand out from the previous models with vertical camera layout.

Preliminary reports[]

Benchmarks from the new Apple A15 chip indicate improved GPU performance. However, benchmarks submitted after continued use indicate the presence of throttling.[6]

Up to seven new model variants had been discovered in mandatory filings within an Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database.[7] Apple's orders for new voice coil motors, to be used in a camera module manufactured by Largan Precision, is reported to exceed supply chain orders of all other Android phone manufacturers combined.[8]
