The iPhone 15 is a line of iPhones developed by Apple Inc. It was announced in a special event on September 12, 2023, along with a larger iPhone 15 Plus variant. It became available for pre-order on September 12, and will become available in store on September 22, 2023 in five colors: blue, pink, yellow, green and black.

Supply chain reports[]

Industry reports indicate that Apple will be including the Dynamic Island in all models of this generation's lineup, with the front-facing camera package being provided by several manufacturers.[1] Leaked CAD data intended for case manufacturers indicate that the new phones will be approximately the same size as the previous year's models, but refined with more curved edges and a slightly thicker "camera bump" with lens that protrude slightly less.[2][3] The Pro model screens are reported to have a narrower bezel boundary between the displayed picture and case edge.[4]

In May 2023, dummies of the iPhone 15 model lineup for case manufacturers began appearing.[5] The models are expected to migrate from Lightning to USB-C ports to comply with regulations from the European Union. The Pro models are reported to be receiving an implementation of USB 3.2 for faster data transfer speeds.[6]

The buttons were thought to have been changed from an electro-mechanical to purely solid-state design, with an updated haptic engine providing button press sensations.[7] However, this feature may be delayed to a subsequent year due to manufacturing complexity issues regarding haptics.[8]
