The iPhone 6 Plus is a smartphone designed and marketed by Apple Inc. The device is a part of the iPhone series and was unveiled along with the iPhone 6 on September 9, 2014, and released on September 19, 2014. The iPhone 6 Plus serves as the successor to the iPhone 5S, and is a predecessor to the iPhone 6S Plus. It is the first "plus"-sized iPhone, featuring a 5.5" display.
The iPhone 6 Plus includes a number of changes over its predecessor, including a faster processor, upgraded cameras, improved LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, and support for a near field communications-based mobile payments offering. This was also the second iPhone to have Touch ID.
The section right below the volume down button was very fragile, and could bend easily. Users who put their iPhone 6 Plus in their back pocket reported having a bent device when taken out. The issue was dubbed as "Bendgate". Bendgate went viral across the internet, and Apple was scolded for their poor build quality. This however was fixed with the iPhone 6s Plus.
Although it looks like that you could very easily bend the device, you'd actually have to apply a lot of pressure to the frame in order to bend it.
Pre-orders of the iPhone 6 Plus exceeded four million within its first 24 hours of availability—an Apple record. More than ten million iPhone 6 Plus devices were sold in the first three days, another Apple record.
On September 9, 2015, the 128 GB version of the iPhone 6 Plus was discontinued along with the gold version. The 16 GB and 64 GB versions of the iPhone 6 Plus in silver and space gray were available for sale at a reduced price due to the release of the iPhone 6s Plus.
