The iPod Power Adapter was developed by Apple for its earliest iPod models, which supported charging over FireWire. It was superseded by the iPod USB Power Adapter as Apple transitioned to USB for charging their mobile devices.[1]

Supported devices[]

The iPod Power Adapter is not to be used with any other type of FireWire device, which could be damaged by the power being delivered.

(later Apple devices do not support charging from FireWire to the 30-pin dock connector) [1]

Supported cables[]

Supported accessories[]

The adapter has a removable "duckhead" that can be switched for use with different types of power connectors.
