The Lightning Digital AV Adapter is a dongle from Apple that allows an iOS or iPadOS device's Lightning port to be simultaneously connected to an HDMI video cable and another lightning cable for charging.

The HDMI connection allows the device's screen to be mirrored on a compatible display at up to 1080p, though 1600x900 was described as the optimum resolution and digital artifacts were reportedly consistent with video upconversion.[1]

The adapter contains a small Apple-designed ARM processor for the purpose of H.264 encoding of the video signal.[1][2]
