The HDMI connection allows the device's screen to be mirrored on a compatible display at up to 1080p, though 1600x900 was described as the optimum resolution and digital artifacts were reportedly consistent with video upconversion.[1]
The adapter contains a small Apple-designed ARM processor for the purpose of H.264 encoding of the video signal.[1][2]
