The Lightning to Micro USB Adapter was released by Apple in September 2012 to allow devices with lightning ports to charge and sync through a USB Micro-B connector.[1]

Releases[]

Since 2012, the adapter was released with the iPhone 5 and later iPhone models to comply with EU regulations that require mobile phones sold in Europe to support Micro USB connections. It was first sold as a standalone item in Europe for 15,[2] and later made available in the United States for US$19.[1]
