Mac-on-Linux is virtualization software developed by Ibrium to allow PowerPC systems to be able to run Mac OS 7.5.2 to 9.2.2, or Mac OS X 10.1 to 10.2.4, on top of Linux/ppc without emulation of the CPU. Running classic Mac OS earlier than Mac OS 8.6 will require a supported ROM file so that it can boot in "Old World" mode.[1]
