macOS 15.0 is the first public release of MacOS Sequoia on September 16, 2024 by Apple Inc.
Development history[]
The first developer beta (build 24A5264n) was seeded on June 10, 2024 and is supported by the MacOS 15 SDK which includes a beta version of Xcode 16.[1] The second beta (build 24A5279h) was released on the following June 24th and was supported by Xcode 16 beta 2.[2][3] The third beta (build 24A5289g) was released on July 10th and was supported by Xcode 15 beta 3.[4] An update to the third beta (build 24A5289h) was released on July 15th, and this build was also used as the first public beta.[5] The fourth beta (build 24A5289h) was released on July 23rd and was supported by Xcode 15 beta 4.[6] However, the next build jumped directly to a beta (build 24B5009l) of macOS 15.1, which was seeded on July 29th.[7]
A release candidate was seeded on September 9, 2024.[8]
