Mac OS X 10.0.2 (or as it was codenamed, Darwin 1.3.1) is the second update to Mac OS X 10.0 "Cheetah" and to Mac OS X overall. The new update has the build number 4P12. The update was released on May 1, 2001.

The following optimisations, improvements and enhancements have been made with this release:
- Classic environment
- FireWire devices
- Enhanced optimisation process
- USB devices
This update also provided enriched recongition of display resolutions, refined audio performance on certain Macs and refined compatibility with displays that are connected to certain types of ATI display cards. Overall application stability was improved, and security patches were applied to ftpd.
But by far the most important updates were those for the support of customised CDs. CD burning support was added with the release, along with an iTunes update, iTunes 1.1.1.
