Michael Bell was the vice president of CPU software at Apple Computer.


Bell received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.[1]


Prior to working at Apple, Bell worked at Motorola on wireless technology.[2]

Apple Computer[]

Bell joined Apple Computer in 1991. He became vice president of CPU software in 2002, and was involved in the development of the iPhone and Apple TV.[1][3] Bell stated that he sent Jobs an email in November 2004 in support of an Apple-developed phone.[4]

After Apple[]

In December 2007, Bell joined Palm Inc. where he became senior VP of product development, responsible for the Palm Pre and Palm Pixi.[5] He then became vice president of Intel from July 2010 to September 2015. He was most recently the chief technology officer of Rivian from June 2019 to February 2020. He has been on the board of directors of iRobot since March 2016.[2][3]
