Obsolete products are defined by Apple as "those whose sales were discontinued more than 7 years ago". All products manufactured by Monster for Beats Electronics prior to Apple's acquisition of the company are considered obsolete, regardless of the date of purchase.

Apple support policy[]

Apple provides service support and parts for its products for 5 years after discontinuation, which can be covered through an AppleCare warranty option, which can extended on a monthly basis or upfront for up to 24 or 36 months.[1] After 5 years, such products are declared "vintage" and Apple may continue to supply support and parts at its discretion or in territories (such as France) where required.[2]

After 7 years, such products are declared "obsolete", indicating that mainstream customer support has come to an end. On occasion, Apple may extend exchange and repair programs in response to a known manufacturing defect in a production run of a specific product.[3]
