Oliver F. Schusser (born 1972) is the president of Beats Electronics. He is also the vice president of Apple Music & international content.

Education[]

Schusser received a Diplom-Kaufmann (equivalent to a bachelor's degree) in business administration and economics from the University of Regensburg in Germany. He then earned an M.B.A. from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. Schusser received a Ph.D. in media economics from the University of Cologne in Germany.[1]

Career[]

Schusser joined Universal Studios Television in Munich, Germany in 1996. He joined Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) in New York in 1998 and became the VP of marketing at Napster in San Francisco, which was acquired by BMG in 2002.[1][2][3] He then returned to Germany to work for Vodaphone.[4]

Apple and Beats[]

Schusser was recruited by Eddy Cue in 2004 to help Apple expand iTunes into Europe. In 2018, he was promoted to VP of Apple Music (formerly Beats Music) & international content. He succeeded Luke Wood as the president of Beats on April 30, 2020. Schusser reports to Eddy Cue, the senior VP of internet software and services.[5]

In January 2023, Schusser assumed some responsibilities in Apple TV+ after the departure of VP of services Peter Stern.[6]
