Pirates of Silicon Valley is a 1999 made-for-television film that was written and directed by Martyn Burke, and broadcast on Turner Network Television (TNT). The story is a dramatization of the early rivalry between Apple Computer co-founder Steve Jobs and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, leading up to the bailout of the near-bankrupt Apple by Microsoft in August 1997.[1]

Reception[]
Pirates of Silicon Valley is rated 89% fresh by Rotten Tomatoes and received an audience score of 92%.[2] The movie was nominated for five Emmy Awards. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak considers it to be the best dramatization about Steve Jobs.[3] Jobs himself invited actor Noah Wyle to participate in a prank in which Wyle impersonated Jobs to deliver the beginning of the keynote address at Macworld Expo in New York in July 1999.[4]
